Description
“Warpath” is my original 3D digital painting featuring Republic F-105D Thunderchiefs. My work took inspiration from a strike mission flown by the 469th Tactical Fighter Squadron (TFS) and 34th TFS on October 22, 1967, when they were fragged to strike a segment of the Cau Dau railway in Route Pack 6, North Vietnam. Loaded with M117 750 pound general purpose bombs and AIM-9 Sidewinders, I’ve depicted them as they climb to rendezvous with their tanker to continue into RP 6 and their target.
On October 22, 1967, three pilots from the 469th TFS and one from the 34th TFS Flew a mission designated “RT56A-172.” The 469th TFS pilots were Capt. Russell Temperly (60-0428), Maj, Roger Scheer (61-0208), and 1LT Earl Henderson (61-0134). They were joined by Maj. Kenneth Mays, of the 34th TFS (62-4395).
I’m offering “Warpath” as a 36X12 inch special edition limited to 20 hand-signed and numbered prints. Each is printed on acid-free 60 Lb. archival paper so colors stay vivid for years if properly cared for. Each print will come with a certificate of authenticity bearing information about the print, my signature, and the print number.
Each print is shipped in a heavy mailing tube. All prints are shipped via USPS Priority Mail at no charge.
